Case Studies
I did a few case studies into already made projects that related to what I want to produce in my project.
Ladon Brasa & Grill Restaurant in Tenerife
The interior design of the Ladon Brasa & Grill restaurant in Tenerife draws inspiration from Greek myths. The image of the dragon inspired this project carried out by Valencia-based firm estudi{H}ac. The name of the Ladon restaurant derives from the Greek mythological creature that looks like a dragon with a hundred heads and, together with the Hesperides, guards the garden. The restaurant is divided into several areas, with different paths characterized by different feels and colours. The land of origin, Tenerife, with its volcanic nature, seas and endless skies can be perceived in many details. Even the colour palette is influenced by the island, with colours ranging from ash to earth, from green to red. Lava stone walls and floors, copper structures and black ceramic scales blend with the large image of a dragon’s skin.

T-Boutique / deyl-sestak-architects
Interior tea boutique, where products of the Dilmah company are presented, is located in the functionalist passage Broadway in Prague street Na PÅ™íkopech. In the design, they have assumed the distinctive elements of the original architecture, which they have tried to follow the current approach. The central motif is the original skylight, a sort of the centrepiece of the entire space, which then geometrically follows a wooden slat structure. This structure gives the entire - otherwise broken space - a bright and compact shape. The individual slats are made of Multiplex, thickness of 21mm, birch veneer, "BB" quality. The floor system is a squeegee-grade micro topping in anthracite colour. The interior is complemented by simple shapes of furniture to minimalist furniture, including two presentation desks made from MDF.

Surface Design Iterations
I did a few varieties of the surface design to see how they would look on the elevation of the building.

3D Printing
I 3D printed my first design of the facade. The black-coloured one was my first trial. When printing, it was printed with the support plastic at the back (to help it not break while printing) but when it was finished it was too sturdy and it was difficult to take off. So, I did another trial with less support. This made the lines weaker, less sturdy and some of the lines broke.

Elevations
I did 2 types of elevation styles. The first one that I did when looking forward, the wooden "lines" looked straight. To elevate it a bit, I decided to flip the ground line in the opposite direction by having a contrast. I think it looked a bit more interesting.

2nd Elevation
I had a talk with Sue and we were thinking about how I can go further with my design.
Ideas:
- The bottom wood slat can start where Fort Lane starts to go down the small hill
- The wooden slat can be designed to invite people into the building
- The design can extend and wrap around the top of the building and become a rooftop cinema or bar.
